Service and working platform

For the secure anchoring of an iceberg, we rely on technologies and materials that have been tried and tested over many years. We are guided by comparable dimensions, such as large offshore facilities or oil rigs. These areas provide us with decades of experience in the disciplines of systems, materials and dimensions. For the next level of engineering, we are pursuing the development of our own anchor system. Safety and sustainability are of utmost importance. Therefore, animal welfare, environmental protection and reusability will be the focus of our research work.

Together with the Fraunhofer Institute (IWES) we are preparing the research project with specialists. Due to the complexity of the project, the research team will be composed of different disciplines – materials research, statics, aerodynamics, fluid mechanics.

The multi-stage process and research work is scheduled to last 24 months.
